TRANSITION SERVICES
Preparing for Life After MLS
At Martin Luther School, we don’t just focus on today — we’re preparing students for their futures. Transition services are a critical part of our program for older students, helping them build the skills, confidence, and plans they need to succeed after graduation. Whether a student is heading to college, entering the workforce, pursuing vocational training, or exploring other pathways, we’re here to help them get ready.
The Transition Coordinator works closely with students to identify and develop meaningful postsecondary goals related to education, employment, and independent living. They provide hands-on support by organizing visits to colleges, vocational programs, and community agencies, giving students opportunities to explore future options in real-world settings.
Additionally, the Transition Coordinator arranges guest speakers and workshops that introduce students to different careers and life skills, while helping them build confidence and self-advocacy. These experiences, combined with individualized planning and collaboration with families and staff, ensure that each student’s transition plan promotes personal growth, independence, and readiness for adulthood.
