Back-to-School Info for MLS – Whitemarsh Families

Dear Martin Luther School Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

We hope you had a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer! We are excited to welcome everyone back for another school year.

We’re especially excited to begin the school year in our beautiful new home, MLS – Whitemarsh! Throughout the year, you’ll hear us refer to our campus by this name.

Many of you have been on this journey with us as we patiently awaited the completion of our new building, and we’re thrilled to finally open its doors. We can’t wait for our students and families to experience this wonderful new space together.

To celebrate, we invite you to stop by for a Drop-In Open House on Monday, August 31st, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. Families are welcome to tour the building, meet staff, and see our new campus before the first day of school. No RSVP is necessary—we’d love to see you! As a special thank you, families who attend can enter a raffle to win one of several family fun gift baskets!

Our staff will return to school on 8/24 and will be busy preparing classrooms, getting everything ready for students, and reaching out to introduce themselves to your family.

Student Information Packets

All current and new families will receive their required forms through DocuSign. Please complete these forms as soon as possible. If you need paper copies or have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Health Records

Please ensure your child’s health records are up to date before the start of the school year.

Pennsylvania requires updated health information for students entering the following grades:

Kindergarten (or any student’s first year in a Pennsylvania school): Physical examination and dental examination
3rd Grade: Dental examination
6th Grade: Physical examination
7th Grade: Required immunizations
11th Grade: Physical examination

If your child requires updated health records or immunizations, please submit them to the school nurse before the first day of school whenever possible. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Office: [email protected]

Chromebooks

Students who attended Martin Luther School during ESY should already have their Chromebook and should bring it with them on the first day of school.

Transportation

Transportation is arranged through your home school district or LEA. If you have questions regarding your child’s transportation, please contact your district directly. If we can assist in any way, we’re happy to help. For transportation questions or concerns, please email [email protected].

School District of Philadelphia Transportation Alerts

For any student who receives transportation through the School District of Philadelphia, we strongly encourage families to sign up for transportation alerts through the District’s website:

These alerts can provide families with information about bus delays and transportation updates directly from the District, often before Martin Luther School is notified. Signing up can help you receive the most timely information regarding your child’s transportation.

Stay Connected with the MLS Mobile App!

Martin Luther School has a mobile app! Search for “Martin Luther School MLS” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

This year, we will be using the MLS app as an important tool for school communication, so we strongly encourage all families to download the app and register.

Through the app, you can access school announcements, news, upcoming events, and direct communication with teachers, staff, and administration.

Please download and register for the MLS app to make sure you stay connected and don’t miss important school communications throughout the year!

Athletics

Students in grades 6–12 who are interested in participating in athletics during the 2026–2027 school year are encouraged to register! Visit the Athletics page for more information here.

Additional information regarding athletic opportunities, including team offerings, tryouts, and schedules, will be shared as it becomes available.
