State Funding Awarded for New MLS Sports Facility
September 20, 2026Gemma Services, the nonprofit organization that Martin Luther School is a part of, has been awarded $250,000 in Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) funding to support the development of an outdoor sports facility on the new Martin Luther School campus on Butler Pike in Whitemarsh township. The funding will advance construction of a multi-purpose turf athletic field, track, and ample seating for spectators to cheer on our Panther student athletes!
Physical education and recreation are vital to our students’ well-being. We are grateful for this support that will allow us to expand athletic and recreational programs and students’ overall wellbeing — strengthening their academic growth while helping them build confidence, teamwork, collaboration, and emotional regulation skills.

Combined with the earlier-announced RACP award, Gemma has now been awarded $500,000 toward this project, with matching funds required. We are grateful to all who are supporting our capital campaign to bring the vision for the new, expanded MLS-Whitemarsh campus to life! Phase 2 of the capital campaign is raising funds for the new sports facility. Gifts of any amount will help make the vision of an exceptional new sports facility a reality for our students and community.
